1. How much is the entrance fee to the castle?
There are different prices for adults, families, senior citizens, children and groups. You will find a pricelist under castle viewing.
2. When are you open?
Our opening hours are:
November - February: 10.00 am – 3.30 pm
March – April: 9.30 am – 4.30 pm
May – October 9:00 am – 5.00 pm
3. When do the tours take place?
Monday through Sunday (closed on Shrove Tuesday, December 24, 25, 31 and January 1)
4. Can I go through the castle alone?
The castle can only be viewed with a tour guide (approx. 1hour).
5. Do topic tours and tours for children take place everyday?
Topic and children's tours take place on certain days at certain times. In some cases it is possible to book topic tours for certain times according to prior agreement. You will find more information in our tour brochure or under Topic and Children’s Tours.
6. Do I need to book in advance for a topic tour?
The number of participants is limited in order to guarantee the special atmosphere so characteristic of our tours. It is therefore necessary to make reservations.
7. Do you have fixed tour times?
There are no fixed times for a normal tour. Waiting time for each tour is no longer than 20 minutes.
8. Do you have a café or restaurant?
There is no public restaurant or café in Sgmaringen castle. As the castle is situated in the center of Sigmaringen, there are many restaurants around the castle area.
9. How do we find the castle?
The castle is situated on Bundesstrasse B313 and B32. Just follow the signs “Zentrum” and “Schloss”. You will find a route planner here.
10. Are parking spaces available at the castle?
Around the castle area there are numerous parking spaces which in some cases must be paid for. You can park in the Marstall car-park for a small fee.
11. Can I get around the castle in a wheelchair?
The castle is built high upon a rock. Because the floor plan is adapted to the cliff, there are many flights of stairs, spiral staircases and steps making it practically impossible for anybody in a wheelchair or on crutches to get around.
12. Do you have foreign language tours?
Several foreign language tours are available with advanced booking. For individual visitors written texts in the desired language are available.
13. Can I take my dog with me to the castle?
No animals of any kind are allowed in the castle.
14. Are there tours for children?
Tours suitable for children are included in our range of topic tours. It is possible for groups to book special children’s tours in advance. For individual visitors we do our best to accommodate the little ones.
